14 road deaths over Labor Day weekend in VA

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia State Police say 14 people were killed in 11 crashes over the long Labor Day weekend.
The preliminary numbers represent a slight increase from the previous two years, when 13 deaths were recorded each holiday weekend.
Three separate crashes involved double fatalities. They occurred in Fairfax, Fauquier and Lancaster counties. Two of the highway deaths involved motorcycle operators.
State police were out in force over the holiday weekend. They arrested 110 impaired drivers and cited 7,415 speeders and 2,164 reckless drivers.
