Montgomery County police have arrested a 15-year-old boy in connection with the rape of a woman in Olney last month.

Alvick Omenga is being charged as an adult with one count of first degree rape and one count of attempted robbery. He was taken into custody Monday.

Police say Omenga grabbed a 22-year-old woman around her neck as she was getting out of a car near Wagonwheel Court about 1:11 a.m. on August 5. He forced her to walk to a common area where he raped her and then fled.

After an investigation, DNA evidence linked Omenga to the crime and an arrest warrant was issued. He is being held on no-bond status. A bond review hearing is set for 1 p.m. today at the Rockville District Court.
