Anthony Muse, Maryland State Senator, plans run for U.S Senate
September 27, 2011 - 10:54 pm
Maryland State Senator Anthony Muse plans a run for the U.S. Senate, his campaign said Tuesday.
Muse, a Democrat from the 26th Legislative District, will announce plans for an exploratory committee as he considers a bid for Senate. Muse wants to take over the senate seat currently held by democrat Ben Cardin.
In a news release the two-term senator and former member of the Maryland House of Delegates said he is dismayed at “the current dysfunction on Capitol Hill.”
"I believe it's time to focus on rebuilding America, creating jobs here at home, better-educating our children, and restoring prosperity to Marylanders," Musa stated.
He cited education and the high unemployment rate particularly among African Americans as concerns.
