Christopher Dante Marinelli charged in Edgewater burglary, assault
Police say an Annapolis man has been arrested and charged in connection with a burglary and assault of a woman in Edgewater.
Christopher Dante Marinelli, 24, is charged with first, second, third and fourth degree burglary along with second degree assault.
On Sept. 4, authorities say the victim told officers that she was inside her home, in the 2900 block of Chestnut Road, when she heard a loud noise. When she went to see what caused the sound a man grabbed her from behind. The woman then screamed and a struggle ensued. Shortly afterwards, the suspect fled out of the back door.
Witnesses say they heard screams and saw a man running from the back of the home, police say.
Officers search the area, and saw a man, who matched the suspect’s description, walking toward the scene. The man had injuries consistent with a struggle. He was questioned by police, and later charged in the crime.
