Flaming RV shuts down express lanes of I-95 at Rt. 1 in Va.
September 11, 2011 - 04:49 pm
An RV on fire forced the closure of the express lanes of the inner loop of I-95, just prior to route 1 in Virginia, shortly before noon Sunday. The RV was being towed by a tow truck.
The Hazardous Materials Team from the Alexandria Fire Department was dispatched to assist due to the presence of an 80 pound propane cylinder. Units worked for a little over an hour to bring the incident under control.
The propane cylinder didn't create any additional issues.
The express lanes were closed while the units worked to bring the incident under control and were eventually re-opened.
