Flight 93 memorial to be dedicated in Pa.
SHANKSVILLE, Pa. (AP) - The dedication of a national memorial for United Flight 93 is drawing hundreds of victims' relatives and many dignitaries to a rural field in Pennsylvania.
A somber ceremony will be held Saturday in Shanksville to remember the 40 passengers and crew members who died after terrorists hijacked their plane.
The first phase of the memorial is being dedicated a day before the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The site will eventually include a "Tower of Voices" with 40 wind chimes.
Vice President Joe Biden and former Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton are among those expected to attend. Grammy Award-winning musician Sarah McLachlan will perform.
Ceremonies are also planned this weekend in New York and Washington, where hijackers crashed planes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
