Truckeroo: Festival draws crowds with variety of foods, live music
Lobster, Korean tacos, and cupcakes all in one place? With live music? Must be Truckeroo time.
Truckeroo, a monthly festival held from June through October, brought out crowds of people today. It's held next to National's Ballpark and the Navy Yard Metro, on the corner of Half St. and M St., SE,
Each month there are 20 to 25 food trucks, live music, and free admission.
The festival, which runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., includes an exotic variety of foods, like Sauca, DC Empanadas, Sweet Bites, BBQ Bus, Dangerously Delicious Pies, Big Cheese, Eat Wonky, TaKorean, Red Hook Lobster Pound, Fojol Bros, and other local food trucks.
Some of the owners of food trucks say they're in a fight for survival -- and they're asking their customers for help.
They want their patrons to show their support to help them stay in business.
ABC7's Pamela Brown reported live in Southeast with the story.
