George Mason University projects underway in Prince William
MANASSAS, Va. (AP) - George Mason University will break ground on two major projects to serve its growing Prince William County campus.

The school will hold groundbreaking ceremonies Wednesday morning for a new life sciences lab and a residence hall for graduate students.
George Mason opened its 124-acre Prince William campus in the Manassas area in 1997. It has grown since then, from about 800 students when it first opened to 4,000 now.
The life sciences building will house the university's nationally recognized program in proteomics and molecular medicine.
The graduate residence hall will be the first on-campus housing for that campus, serving 152 students living in 112 apartments.
The life sciences building will be completed in 2013, while the student housing project will wrap up by 2012.
