Group arrested with D.C. mayor Gray at budget has trial delayed

(AP, ABC7) - A group of people arrested with District of Columbia Mayor Vincent Gray during an April protest on Capitol Hill set to go to trial Monday had their trial postponed.

Gray and most of the 40 other people arrested with him during a protest over the city's budget opted to pay a fine instead of going forward with a trial. But a few protesters decided to challenge their arrest in a trial that begins Monday.

During their protest the group sat in the roadway near the U.S. Capitol to protest new restrictions Congress placed on the city's budget, which it approves.

A lawyer for the group says that Eleanor Holmes Norton, who represents the city in Congress, is expected to testify.
