Hurricane Irene: Local schools reopen a week after Irene

(WJLA,AP) - Some schools in the Washington region are set to reopen more than a week after Hurricane Irene passed through the mid-Atlantic region.
Five schools in Baltimore County will be welcoming students on Tuesday. Charles Herndon, spokesman for Baltimore County Public Schools says power was restored to all of the schools by Monday afternoon. Schools in the county had been scheduled to open on Aug. 29.
Guilford Elementary/Middle School in Baltimore city, Marley Glen Special School in Anne Arundel County, and schools in Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, Stafford, and Spotsylvania counties in Virginia are also reopening Tuesday.
