iWatch allows citizens to report crimes online
September 7, 2011 - 06:24 pm
A new program called the 21st century version of Neighborhood Watch will allow citizens to report suspicious behavior via the web.
Called, iWatchDC, the site allows people to report suspicious activity quickly, including terrorism-related activity.
"We encourage anyone who witnesses what appears to be suspicious or out of the ordinary activity to report this by using iWATCHDC or calling 911," said MPD Chief Cathy Lanier. "Even though the activity may seem insignificant, it may just be the piece of information that is needed to get a clearer picture of a potential terrorist plot or criminal activity."
