Labor Day weekend brings hope for businesses, higher gas prices
September 2, 2011 - 06:35 am
It’s hard to imagine: Just last week we were hunkering down for Hurricane Irene. Now, after the clean-up many are packing up for the beach, but gas prices are running about a dollar a gallon more than this time last year.
Still, businesses are hoping that won't keep tourists away.
If you’re planning on hitting the roads this Labor Day weekend, expect to pay, on average, about $3.46 a gallon for gas in Ocean City.
The average price in Virginia Beach is about $3.49 and $3.52 if you’re traveling to the Jersey Shore.
ABC7’s Mike Conneen has more on what you can expect this Labor Day travel weekend.
