September 2, 2011 - 07:49 am
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Maryland Natural Resources Police are urging boaters hitting the water for the Labor Day weekend to look for debris from Hurricane Irene.
Natural Resources Police say boaters should also inspect their vessels for possible storm damage and be aware of the possibility of missing or misplaced navigational aids.
And they are reminding boaters that Maryland has experienced a high number of boating deaths this year and officers will be stepping up enforcement.
