A mother bear and her cub were spotted on Marsala Court in Woodbridge, prompting animal control officers to issue a warning for residents.

Diana Oquendo picked up her son from Antietam Elementary School after getting a phone call from the school. "I actually got a little concerned because I run around here,” she said.

Many parents chose to pick up their children. "They said there was a bear, (that’s) pretty crazy," said student Aidan Houston.

Someone spotted a bear and her cub not too far the school Friday morning. Animal control officers searched the wooded area, but found nothing. Teachers say recess was canceled and they had to answer a lot of questions from scared students.
