Sept. 11 ceremonies held across the nation (video)
In New York, Washington and Pennsylvania, across the United States and the world, people carried out rituals as familiar as they are heartbreaking: American flags unfurled at the new World Trade Center tower and the Eiffel Tower, and tears shed at the base of the Pentagon.
ABC7's Jummy Olabanji has more on how the victims were honored.
In New York, Ground Zero wasn't the only location people visited to honor the lives lost ten years ago. Visitors flocked a few blocks south of the World Trade Center to Battery Park where more than 3,000 flags, with the names of every person taken by the fateful terror attack, were flown throughout the park's greenery.
Feelings of both sadness and patriotism were high, as you can see in this video posted online by two journalists.
