Updated: September 16, 2011 - 06:02 am
Fairfax County Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with the abduction of a 5-year-old girl in Springfield.
The child was taken from her bed and came home later with upper body trauma.
The suspect, who's name is being withheld because he is a juvenile, is charged with burglary with intent to commit a felony, abduction with the intent to defile, aggravated malicious wounding and object sexual penetration.
The crime scene was in a wooded area near the girl's home in the 7000 block of Brocton Court.
Authorities earlier said the suspect broke into the girl's home on Aug. 27 and took her from her bed. The girl's parents and 1-year-old sibling were asleep at the time.
Police say the girl made her way back home shortly after 4 a.m. and explained what had happened.
Police say the girl had "trauma to the upper body" but was not stabbed or shot.
The suspect was previously arrested and charged with a separate burglary in the same community several days before the alleged abduction.
The suspect has been in custody since August 31 on burglary charges. He is being held without bond.
