Victor Noel Williams struck, killed in Wheaton-Glenmont

A man was struck and killed early Sunday in Wheaton-Glenmont as he was attempting to cross the street.
About 7:25 a.m., a man was hit as he stepped off the curb into the southbound lanes of Georgia Avenue and Windham Lane, Montgomery County Police said.
The man, identified as Victor Noel Williams, 52, of the 2900 block of Peregoy Drive in Kensington, was taken to Holy Cross Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver, identified as Armida Herrara of the 4500 block of Gridley Road in Silver Spring, remained on the scene. She was driving a green 2000 Honda Accord with Maryland tags.
The accident is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 301-840-2435.
