William Ashley Pickett arrested in assault, rape of 15-year-old girl

An Annapolis man has been arrested for the assault and rape of a 15-year-old girl.

Police say 33-year-old William Ashley Pickett was taken into custody early Thursday morning in District Heights.

On Monday, the victim told police she was walking past Pickett’s home when he invited her to come inside, and she did. That’s when Pickett reportedly forcibly sexually assaulted and raped her. The girl says she knew Pickett.

A warrant was issued on Wednesday, and Pickett was captured on the next day.

Annapolis Police, Prince George’s County Police, and District Heights Police assisted with the arrest.
