Daybreak Daily’s afternoon walk through the pop-culture neighborhood witnesses modern TV viewing habits, Lindsay Lohan news, ‘Glee’ tidbits and much more.

MODERN VIEWING: Per the AP, “ABC's "Modern Family" may not be the top-rated comedy on television, but it's the one most viewers catch up with on their digital video recorders. Through the first two weeks of the season, the Nielsen Co. said an average of 4.5 million viewers watched a recording of "Modern Family" after it first appeared on the air. That lifted the show's viewership from nearly 14 million people who watched it live to 18.5 million.

It was the prime-time program that got the biggest lift when Nielsen's measurement of who watches on DVR within seven days is added in. Networks are increasingly watching this new ratings measurement as DVR penetration increases. http://apne.ws/r6bGmC

IN THE CLEAR?: Per TMZ, “Lindsay Lohan will get some critical support when she goes to court tomorrow ... Probation Department sources tell TMZ the Dept. thinks Lindsay has done most of what she's required to do, and they will NOT recommend that she be thrown in jail.

Our sources say ... the Probation Dept. officials will tell the judge in a written report that Lindsay is in "substantial compliance" with the terms of her probation. They concede she was kicked out of the Downtown Women's Center for habitually failing to show up, but they note that Lindsay has a year to complete 360 hours of community service, and she's still on track.” http://bit.ly/rizau2

HE’S BACK: Per TVLine, “Trouty Mouth is getting reeled back in!
Three months after his high profile departure from Glee, Chord Overstreet is in final talks to return to the show on a recurring basis, TVLine has learned exclusively. Assuming the deal closes — and I’m told it definitely will — Overstreet will reprise his role as the sweet, sculpted Sam beginning with this season’s eighth episode (tentatively scheduled to air in early December).” http://bit.ly/pI2ShA

THOSE WERE THE DAYS: Per Rolling Stone, “This week in rock history, Joan Baez was arrested for anti-war demonstrating, three members of Lynyrd Skynyrd were killed in a plane crash, AC/DC toured England with Brian Johnson, Paul McCartney unveiled the Concert for New York City and CBGBs closed.” http://bit.ly/oX3Yd8

BRITNEY SEARS: Per E!, “Britney Spears and Jason Trawick are getting steamy in her new "Criminal" video—and it's seriously steamy y'all. The singer, who filmed the video in London last month with her real-life boyfriend, gets completely naked with her man, takes a sexy shower with him and rolls around in the sheets with him in what look like some very real love scenes. So how hot does it get?” http://eonli.ne/plZ0Ew

ALBUM REVIEW: Per the Los AngelesTimes, ““You know, we’ve become a big business,” Perry Farrell notes in his distinctive caterwaul on “Irresistible Force (Met the Immovable Object),” a song on the fourth full-length release from Jane’s Addiction. It’s a remarkable moment of candor: Jane’s Addiction commenced in the late ’80s as one of alternative rock’s most maverick progenitors, fomenting the American festival movement in founding Lollapalooza and inspiring legions with heavy yet genre-confounding grooves.

However, as Jane’s coalesced into a mainstream headliner, the band’s recorded legacy grew so spotty and sporadic it made R.E.M.’s seem like a model of consistency by comparison.
“The Great Escape Artist,” however, represents both a return to form and an unsullied beginning.” http://lat.ms/na4HKl

SKINNY DEMI: Per Radar, “Carrying the weight of husband Ashton Kutcher's rumored fling looks to be taking its toll on Demi Moore, who looked scary skinny posing on the red carpet Monday at New York's Landmark Sunshine Cinema for the premiere of the new thriller Margin Call.” http://bit.ly/pnMweT

SIR RICHARD: Per Entertainment Tonight, “Richard Simmons marked his return to Dancing with the Stars last night, but for this round, the authority in all things to do with Sweating to the 80's traded in his mentoring gloves to lend his energy and enthusiasm to the cast as they hung up their dancing shoes backstage.” http://bit.ly/n0GZSs

CHEERS, CAMILLE: Per Us, “Kelsey Grammer isn't done talking about the bad old days with his ex-wife Camille. Days after the former Fraiser star argued that Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was a "parting gift" to his third wife, the actor is opening up about Camille's motivations.

Speaking to Piers Morgan Monday, Kelsey, 56, said that the newly-minted reality star, 43, married him for his industry status. "I think she married me because I was 'Frasier,'" Kelsey argued, referring to the TV character he made famous in primetime from 1993-2004. http://bit.ly/n1ftcN
