Bethesda Metro Station escalators out again
October 25, 2011 - 10:01 am
The escalators at the Bethesda Metro station went down again to a power problem, WMATA said on its Twitter page Tuesday morning.
This is the second time in the span of a week that the escalators in Bethesda have been inoperable. On Oct. 19, the escalators went down for more than an hour.
Service was restored at the station at about 10:30 a.m.
Bethesda Station boasts the second longest single-span escalators in the Western Hemisphere.
On Tuesday night, the Montgomery County Council will hold a special meeting featuring the Transportation, Infrastructure, Energy and Environment Committee on this very topic.
