Boeing will build regional headquarters in Arlington
A major government contractor will soon expand its presence in Arlington.
The County Board approved the Boeing Company's plan to build a new regional headquarters on county-owned land near Long Bridge Park in Crystal City.
"County advisory commissions that reviewed the proposed project raised important issues," said County Board Chairman Christopher Zimmerman in a news release. "In the end, we concluded that the community benefits of the project outweighed its drawbacks. The Board voted in favor of the Boeing plan because this solidifies the presence of a major corporate entity in Arlington and brings us an important step closer to building the planned Aquatics Center."
There is no word on when construction will begin on the LEED Gold building.
