Brookland, Rhode Island Avenue Metro stations closed this weekend
October 17, 2011 - 11:02 am
Track work will shut down two stations on the Red Line this weekend as crews do bridge work near the New York Avenue station.
Buses will replace trains on the Red Line while the Rhode Island Avenue and Brookland-CUA stations close starting at 10 p.m. Friday night. Free shuttles will run between Fort Totten and New York Avenue.
WMATA advises riders to add 30 minutes to their commute if going through that segment of the system.
Track work will also require single-tracking on the Blue and Green Lines.
On the Blue Line, trains will share a track between Stadium-Armory and Addison Road. Green Line trains will single-track between Fort Totten and Prince George's Plaza.
All track work is expected to be completed by Monday morning.
