Children dance Thriller on roller skates
A group of children is recreating Michael Jackson’s Thriller video on roller skates.
The children from D.C. and Maryland meet at the Temple Hills skating palace.
"No one can reach us at home because we are here 24/7,” said 12-year-old Wallace Loving. His grandmother Shirley agrees. “They practically live here,” she says.
Coach and mentor Ken Davis is a martial arts expert, trainer and roller-skating wonder himself.
"I might be a little hard on them because I want the best out of them but I am thrilled,” he said.
The Thriller performers range from 5 to 23 years of age.
"I know it kept me out of trouble. Good environment keeps you positive,” one skater said.
Charles Monroe is now an instructor helping kids whose proud parents came to view the practice. Get ready for Tuesday night's show at the rink.
The Thriller on Wheels show will be on Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. at the Temple Hills Skate Palace, 3132 Branch Ave. Temple Hills, Md.
