Christina Dawn Moore, John Michael Robey plead guilty to child abuse
The Bristow couple who was indicted on allegations they barricaded three young children in a bedroom to prevent them from leaving pleaded guilty in Circuit Court on Thursday.
Christina Dawn Moore, 26, and John Michael Robey, 33, were indicted on three counts each of felony child abuse.
They pleaded guilty to all charges. They are set to be sentenced on Jan. 12.
Authorities say that on March 26, Moore and Robey nailed a half-wall sheet of drywall in the doorframe of a bedroom in a Loft Court home to prevent three young children - whose ages ranged from four months to four years old - from leaving, according to Prince William County Police.
The 4-year-old girl was able to climb over the wall and get to a neighbor's house for help. The neighbor tore down the drywall and removed the kids from the house.
Authorities said the room was covered in feces and urine. The couple was allegedly in an adjacent room asleep.
Police found no evidence of injuries or malnourishment. Police believe the girls were in the room for no more than a day.
The neighbor rescued the other children and called police.
Moore previously faced child neglect charges in 2005 after her 22-month-old boys were found wandering around a junkyard.
Moore was allegedly sleeping nearby while the boys played just steps away from Route 234.
Authorities said the boys appeared dirty, hungry and both had several scratches and bug bites.
