Christmas Tree lighting ceremony to be held December 1

The annual National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held on Thursday, Dec. 1 this year, the National Park Service announced today.
The ceremony will be held on the Ellipse in the District and tickets for the event will be awarded via an online lottery system. The lottery will provide the general public a chance to get free tickets to the ceremony.
Beginning at 10 a.m. on November 3, tickets will be available at www.thenationaltree.org. The lottery will run through 9:59 a.m. on November 7.
The lottery will include 3,000 ticketed seats and 14,000 standing room tickets.
Talent line-up for the lighting ceremony will be announced in November.
