D.C. ranks 42nd in nation for manliest men
Perhaps it's the saturation of cupcake shops or our lack of rodeos. Whatever the reason, Washington, D.C. ranks 42nd in the nation for America's manliest men, according to a study by Combos, a salty snack.
The study, now in its third year, saw the nation's capitol drop from 33rd last year.
The methodology took into account broad categories such as sports, manly lifestyle, concentration of manly retail stores, manly occupations and Combos retail sales, of course.
Points were taken away if a city had emasculating criteria such as "the number of home furnishing and décor stores, cafés/coffee shops, sushi restaurants, “modern” male apparel stores and cupcake shops," the study said.
The Top 10 manliest cities were:
1. Nashville, TN
2. Charlotte, NC
3. Oklahoma City, OK
4. Memphis, TN
5. Columbia, SC
6. Cleveland, OH
7. Birmingham, AL
8. Milwaukee, WI
9. Houston, TX
10. St. Louis, MO
