Fire truck accident injures 2 in Lanham
An accident involving a fire truck left two people injured in Lanham this morning, officials said.
About 8 a.m., West Lanham Hill Fire personnel had just cleared an incident and were returning to the station when the fire engine they were operating collided with a civilian vehicle, said Prince George's County Fire officials.
The engine, Engine 848, was traveling on Annapolis Road near the intersection of 85th Avenue when a civilian vehicle entered the roadway and hit the right hand side of the front bumper of the engine.
Engine848 was able to come to a stop, but the civilian vehicle continued to travel through the intersection and hit two other civilian vehicles.
Two civilians suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital. One firefighter was also taken to a hospital for evaluation.
