George Clowers sentenced to 40 years

A 24-year-old man who earlier pleaded guilty to breaking into two homes in NW D.C. and sexually assaulting the women who were sleeping inside was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
George Clowers, who has no fixed address, pleaded guilty to two counts of first degree sexual assault in D.C. Superior Court. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 7 and faces up to 60 years.
He is accused of breaking into a residence in the 900 block of P Street NW and sexually assaulting a woman on July 24, 2007. He is also accused of sexually assaulting a woman in the 1500 block of Marion Street NW on April 6.
He was linked to the crimes through DNA.
