An ice cream truck crashed into a home daycare center in Landover Hills Sunday afternoon, fire officials say. The driver was the only person injured.
Fire and rescue units responded to 4808 66th Avenue and found the van had destroyed some playground structures before hitting the house, according to a spokesperson for the Kentland Volunteer Fire Department.
Crews evaluated the driver of the truck and surveyed the extent of the damage to the structure. Prince George's County Fire Investigations was alerted as well as a building inspector.
The driver, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was transported to an area trauma center.
