ELKRIDGE, Md. (AP) - A motorcyclist is dead after striking a parked tractor-trailer.
Howard County police say 30-year-old Juan Carlos Calderon Mejia lost control of his bike Saturday afternoon on Brookdale Drive in Elkridge. The motorcycle ran into the rear of a parked tractor-trailer.
Mejia was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where he died.
Police say speed was a factor in the crash. They also say Mejia didn't have a motorcycle license and wasn't wearing a helmet.
