Justin Antony Isaacs killed in Temple Hills shooting
The 17-year-old shot to death in Temple Hills Monday night has been identified as Justin Antony Isaacs.
Isaacs attended Potomac High School in Oxon Hill and worked part time after school at a dry cleaning store.
His mother Jacqueline Isaacs said he was shot while sitting on the front porch.
"I heard gunshots and it sounded so close,” said Isaacs. She said she looked outside and saw her son slumped back on the concrete.
"I said ‘Justin stop that, what are you doing,’ but he wouldn't respond to me so I went out and I touched him and I saw some blood on him … and I started screaming and I just lost it,” she said.
She said he'd just returned from the neighborhood library, where he was working on a class paper. Justin rapped in a gogo band called All or Nothing.
"Now with the band it's going to be a lot of commotion it's a lot of people out here that take it real bad,” said Tony Cummings.
Police say officers responded shortly before 7:30 p.m. Monday night to the 2100 block of Iverson Street. They were canvassing the area Tuesday.
The teenager was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
