Justin Brunell charged with stabbing death of Jermaine Samuel
A man is in custody following the stabbing death of another man late Tuesday in Fredericksburg, police said.
At 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, a man was found stabbed to death next to a parked car in the 1900 block of Charles Street, according to a police news release.
The man, who was identified as Jermaine Samuel, 33, was pronounced dead on the scene. His last known address was Colonial Motel in Fredericksburg.
Witnesses were able to describe the attacker and about 10 minutes after the first 911 call, a man matching the description was found and detained at the Fredericksburg Shopping Center in the 500 block of Jefferson Davis
Highway, the release said.
Police recovered a weapon and subsequently arrested Justin Brunell, 20, of Fredericksburg. He is charged with first degree murder and being held without bond.
Investigations revealed the two men had been arguing over illegal narcotics.
