ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) - A judge has indefinitely postponed the trial of a former CIA officer accused of leaking secrets about Iran to a newspaper reporter, following a decision by prosecutors to appeal one of the judge's pretrial rulings.

Jury selection had been scheduled for Monday in the trial of ex-CIA man Jeffrey Sterling. Federal prosecutors say he divulged classified information about CIA efforts to thwart Iran's nuclear ambitions to New York Times reporter James Risen.

In a docket entry posted Friday, Judge Leonie Brinkema said she is postponing the trial after prosecutors decided to appeal her ruling striking two of their witnesses from the case.

Details of the dispute have been discussed only in sealed court filings and secret court hearings.

Sterling has argued he is a victim of selective prosecution.
