A special election is being held today in Prince George's to replace a councilwoman who resigned after pleading guilty to corruption.
Sixth District Councilwoman Leslie Johnson resigned over the summer after pleading guilty in a federal corruption probe that targeted her husband, former County Executive Jack Johnson.
She was charged with destroying evidence. Her husband also pleaded guilty in the case.
The polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
Democrat Derrick Leon Davis and Republican Day Gardner are vying to succeed Johnson.
