Man jumps in front of Metro train, then tries to leave station
A man jumped in front of a departing yellow line train at the Huntington Metro station in Alexandria Sunday afternoon, says Dan Stessel, spokesperson for Metro.
The man was knocked down when the train hit him, but he was able to jump back on to the platform. He tried to leave the station, but was stopped by Metro Transit Police.
He was examined by emergency medical service personnel and was taken to a hospital.
The train was delayed for only eight minutes, Stessel says.
