Man killed in fatal Rockville crash identified

UPDATE (11:32 a.m): Montgomery County Police say the man killed in this morning's accident in Rockville was a passenger, not the driver.
Nashon O Brian Barnett, 26, of Rockville, was riding in the front seat of the car when it left the roadway and traveled onto the center median, striking a tree and a sign, police say. It happened on Veirs Mill Road around 4:15 a.m. Friday.
Police say its unclear why the car left the roadway.
The driver, identified as Danielle Delores Donaldson, 21, also of Rockville, suffered non-llife treatening injuries.
An investigation is ongoing.
ORIGINAL STORY: A man is dead after he lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree in Rockville early Friday morning, officials say.
It happened at the intersection of Veirs Mill Road and Twinbrook Parkway about 5:30 a.m.
Montgomery County Fire officials say the driver also struck the median, and was taken to Suburban Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
No further details were immediately available.
