Memorial for Jewish chaplains to be dedicated
October 24, 2011 - 08:36 am
ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) - A memorial to 14 Jewish chaplains who died during active military service will be dedicated at Arlington National Cemetery.
The dedication service, scheduled for Monday afternoon, marks the completion of a memorial that will sit side by side to previously existing memorials dedicated to Protestant and Catholic chaplains.
The privately funded memorial received backing earlier this year from a joint Congressional resolution.
According to the cemetery, this year marks the 150th anniversary of service by rabbis in the U.S. Armed Forces.
