Michal Neuvirth starting in Washington Capitals season opener

In a surprising move, the Washington Capitals will start Michal Neuvirth in goal in their season opener against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday.
The Washington Times' Stephen Whyno reports that goaltender Tomas Vokoun, the veteran netminder the Capitals signed this offseason, told reporters that he wasn't nervous about the opener because he wasn't playing.
“Supposedly I'm going to play the next game," Vokoun said, referring to Monday night's match-up with Tampa Bay.
Vokoun signed a one-year contract with Washington this offseason after the team traded Semyon Varlamov to Colorado.
