October 31, 2011 - 09:45 am
A man who was shot in Northeast early Monday morning is in stable condition, police say.
D.C. Police say that a 22-year-old man was shot in the 3400 block of 17th Street NE at about 4 a.m. while sitting in his car.
When he tried to drive away, police say he crashed into a brick wall in near the intersection of 17th Street and Monroe Street NE and caught fire. A nearby, off-duty D.C. firefighter pulled the victim out of his car while en route to work.
Police continue to investigate the shooting and are looking for a suspect and a motive.
