Orange and Blue line delays possible this morning
October 26, 2011 - 07:03 am
Power problems are causing delays on the Orange and Blue Lines of Metro, WMATA says.
The power at two substations, one at Stadium-Armory and another at Deanwood, lost power early Wednesday morning. Those substations provide power to the third rail in each of those Metro stations.
As a result, Orange Line trains are moving at a reduced speed between Minnesota Avenue and Cheverly. Metro also did not run any 8-car trains on the Orange Line during the power failures.
Metro says that power has been restored to the Stadium-Armory substation, but power is still down at the Deanwood location. Pepco expects service at that substation to be restored sometime Thursday morning.
