LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) - Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has told a conservative audience in Virginia that it's time to "reload for America."
The News & Advance reported that Palin spoke Saturday at Liberty University's Extraordinary Women Conference. Palin announced several days ago that she would not be a Republican presidential candidate in 2012.
Palin focused on faith and family in her speech. She also told the audience,
"Now isn't the time to retreat, now is the time to reload with truth so we can fight for this country and reload for America."
Palin drew criticism from Democrats for her use of the term "reload" after the Jan. 8 Arizona shooting rampage that killed six and injured 13, including Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.
Palin defended her words afterward, noting that she has condemned violence and was "talking about our vote."
