Pe'Shon Howard breaks foot, will miss 10-12 weeks
The Maryland Terrapins will be without sophomore guard Pe'Shon Howard for up to three months after he broke his foot in a a preseason workout.
Howard broke a small bone in his left foot, and the injury is severe enough to keep him out of workouts for the short-term.
"He worked so hard and had a great summer and early fall," Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon said in a statement. "Hopefully, we'll get a lot better by the time Pe'Shon joins the team later this year."
After playing in all 33 games for the Terrapins during his freshman season, Howard was projected to start at point guard this season. He averaged 5.4 points and 3.2 assists per game for Maryland in 2010-11.
Maryland opens the regular season on Nov. 13 with a home game in College Park against UNC-Wilmington.
