I-395 at Edsall Road reopened after police chase, crash

The ramp to Edsall Road from northbound I-395 in Alexandria was closed this morning due to a police chase which resulted in a crash, officials said.

About 4 a.m., a Fairfax County Officer tried to make a traffic stop northbound on I-95 near Fairfax County Parkway.
The vehicle fled which prompted a pursuit. Additional cruisers joined and slowed the vehicle until it was pinned against a guardrail at I-395 and Edsall Road, exit 2A.
The suspect and an officer suffered minor injuries. The suspect was taken to a local hospital.
Only traffic charges have been brought against the suspect, but police are still investigating.
