A University of Maryland student was robbed off-campus Friday, according to police.

On Friday night, a female student asked a friend to arrange a ride for her from her apartment off-campus to Stamp Union, according to a Prince George's County Police Department news release.

The student then received a call saying her ride was waiting outside. She was called over to a black and purple Toyota Scion. As she approached the car, two men exited and demanded she hand over her purse.

When the student resisted, one of the men displayed a gun, at which point she handed over her purse.

The men got back in the car and fled north on Route 1.

No one was injured.

The student described one man as African-American, 5-foot-9, about 20 years old, and wearing a green and blue sweater.

The other man was African-American and about 20 years old as well.

In addition, there was a woman driving, the student said. She was described as African-American and about 23 years old.
