Police step up patrols after Suitland Metro assaults
Donna Jackson says these days, when she waits for her bus along Silver Hill Road, she keeps one word in mind: Caution.
“Just need to be careful,” Jackson says.
On September 27th and then again Tuesday morning, a man with a black handgun accosted women in the early morning hours as they walked to the Suitland Metro station.
In the first case the woman was sexually assaulted. In the second the victim was able to get away.
Now police are linking a September 19th incident several block ups up Silver Hill Road to the same suspect. in that case the man with the gun ordered a woman into a 7-Eleven to get cash from an ATM. She saved herself by staying inside.
Police say women here need to aware.
“There is someone out there that we are working to find who is potentially taking advantage of them whether to try to rob them or potentially hurt them in a more serious way,” said Julie Parker, Prince George’s County spokesperson.
