Students accused of drinking alcohol at Bethesda Chevy Chase HS
Several students at Bethesda Chevy Chase High allegedly consumed alcohol in the parking lot before school started Monday.
School administrators called police after they discovered the students drinking. Several of the students were described as intoxicated.
“All the seniors met in the student parking lot, I guess had a little too much fun,” one senior said.
It’s homecoming week at BCC, and a school system spokesperson says the homecoming spirit got out of hand, adding that the school will discipline the students.
“It's a lot of stuff going on. A couple of them came into school drunk,” said BCC senior Malaika Bressey.
According to a school spokesman, authorities found alcohol in cars and three students appeared intoxicated.
“It’s kind of stupid to do it at the school,” said senior Saga Melaer.
The students now face citations for underage drinking, possibly suspensions and loss of school privileges such as sports.
