Va. GOP hits graphic of zombie Obama shot in head
(AP, ABC7) - A Loudoun County Republican Committee Halloween-themed graphic featuring a zombie President Barack Obama with a bullet hole in his forehead has provoked condemnations left and right.
The montage was sent out Sunday by the Loudoun County Republican committee to invite supporters to join them at a Halloween Parade in Leesburg. It mingles altered images including a disfigured U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi and zombie Obama supporters.
"That's terrible, I mean that's the president of the United States, that's so disrespectful and not even necessary,” said Stephanie Deberry, who lives in Leesburg.
"Some individuals have interpreted an image of Barack Obama that appeared within the email as intending to portray the president as a victim of a violent crime. Nothing could be further from the truth and we deeply and sincerely apologize,” the chair of the committee said in an apology.
“It’s already out there,” said Leesburg resident Jim Roberts. “You can't take it back, it's still a low blow.”
The posterized image of a rotting, undead Obama with a bleeding, large-caliber hole an inch above his right eye prompted Democrats to cry foul and state GOP chairman Pat Mullins to denounce it as "disgusting."
A conservative northern Virginia blog, Too Conservative, called it "shameful" and recommended it be reported to the Secret Service.
