Virginia wins housing policy award

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia has won an award for outstanding achievement in the development of a statewide housing policy.
Gov. Bob McDonnell announced the award from the National Council of State Housing Agencies on Wednesday.
The award recognizes agencies for efficient, effective and creative use of resources to achieve state policy objectives. Virginia was recognized for showing that state policymaking can effectively link the legislative and executive branches of government with stakeholder groups to reach consensus on housing objectives.
