2 killed, 3 hurt in crash in Howard County
ELKRIDGE, Md. (AP) - Howard County police say two teens were killed and three more were injured after a car hit a tree.
Police say the Pontiac GT was traveling westbound on Lawyer's Hill Road around 8 p.m. Friday when the driver lost control, crossed eastbound lanes and hit a tree.
Two passengers, 19-year-old Jeffrey Ryan Giles of Linthicum and 18-year-old Jonathon Deckman, of Severn, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, 18-year-old Dale Kirk Audet II of Linthicum, and two passengers were taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. Audet was listed in critical condition. The two others were released and attended a vigil in Glen Burnie on Saturday night.
Police say speed appears to be a factor. They believe the two passengers who died were not wearing their seat belts.
