3 lanes on Beltway in Va. to close overnight
November 14, 2011 - 05:43 am
McLEAN, Va. (AP) - The three left lanes of the southbound Capital Beltway will be closed overnight Monday for bridge construction associated with the Silver Line expansion of Metrorail through Tysons Corner.
The closures will run from about 10 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, from Lewinsville Road to the Route 123 exit near McLean.
Motorists should be prepared for delays or seek alternate routes.
Transportation officials say similar closures will be required through the end of the year as bridge construction in the area nears completion.
The work will be canceled if the weather is bad.
